Robert W. Hurst, Jr. CPA, Business Owner
Robb graduated from the University of Georgia with both, his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, 1989, and Master of Taxation, 1990. He began his career in public accounting in 1991 at the national accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick in Greenville, SC. In 1992, after the death of his dad’s partner, Robb and his wife Lorna journeyed home to Douglas, GA to work with Robert Hurst, Sr., until his retirement in 2004, at Hurst & Hurst CPAs, LLC.
Robb specializes in dealing with the accounting and tax problems of small businesses and their owners. He has extensive experience in the retail, restaurant, construction, healthcare and other professional industries. Other areas in which he exceeds the expertise of most is his in depth knowledge of accounting and auditing procedures and financial reporting requirements for government and nonprofits.
Robb is an active member of the community. He attends First Presbyterian Church of Douglas, Georgia. He has served as a Governor appointee to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Rural Development Council. He is a Past President of the Waycross Chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs as well as a Past President of the South Georgia State College Foundation. Robb is a former member of the Georgia Society of CPAs Legislative Committee and Ethics Committee. He currently serves on the Coffee County Jobs Development Council and is an active member of the Coffee County Chamber of Commerce.
Robb and his wife Lorna were both born and raised in Douglas and have been married for 29 years. They have four children, Aaron, Bobby, Chandler, and Avery. He enjoys spending time hunting, golfing, and UGA football.

Parker Borland CPA, Audit Manager
Parker graduated from Georgia Southern University in December 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an Accounting focus and a minor in Fraud Examination. After graduating, he came back to Douglas and immediately started studying for the CPA examination, which he passed in 2012. Parker has been with Hurst & Hurst CPAs since January 2013.
His primary responsibilities include managing the audit department for clients ranging from governmental, not-for-profit, and the private sector.
Parker and his wife Melissa, an elementary school teacher, have two children: Charlie Parker, age 6, and Grayson, age 4. In the rare opportunities outside of his family and job, Parker enjoys fishing.

Lisa Williams Senior Staff Accountant
Lisa has been with Hurst & Hurst CPAs since March 2009. Previously having worked for Fleetwood Homes for 22 years, Lisa has considerable knowledge and experience in the areas of corporate accounting and financial reporting. Her experience includes office administration and management, sales analysis and reporting, accounts receivable/payable management, fixed asset management, sales tax reporting, payroll administration, and financial statement reviews.
Lisa concentrates on individual and corporate income tax returns, financial accounting, and the resolution of client tax matters through correspondence with taxing agencies. She works closely with clients to be sure that their needs and deadlines are met. She is also responsible for handling the office’s practice management system.
Lisa and her husband, Stanley, are members of Pridgen Baptist church. They have three children, Adam, Jacob, and Bethany, and four grandchildren, all of whom they enjoy spending time with.

Beverly Burkett Bookkeeping Supervisor
Beverly joined Hurst & Hurst CPAs in April 2010 with a 27 year background in corporate accounting experience.
Beverly specializes in client bookkeeping services, including reconciling all of client’s accounts, managing sales tax filings and creating monthly financial statements. She is the point of contact for documenting loans and other liabilities, maintaining assets, and for daily transaction questions. Beverly is experienced in QuickBooks as well as all aspects of payroll processing and tax filings.
Beverly has been married to Ron for 39 years. Together they have two children, Kacie and Keegan, and two grandchildren. Beverly enjoys fishing and spending time with her family.

Leigh Cato Firm Administrator
Leigh joined Hurst & Hurst CPAs in August 2016. She has worked as an Office Manager in a CPA firm and dental office and has a background of owning a small retail business in Douglas.
Some of Leigh’s responsibilities include intake, processing, and delivery of all income tax returns, client billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable. She also works closely with Hurst Wealth, the wealth management side of Hurst & Hurst, helping clients develop and improve their financial future.
Leigh and her husband, Adam, have been married for 29 years. They have two daughters, Alexis and Logan, whom have both graduated from the University of Georgia. When they aren’t at work, they enjoy visiting their daughters in Athens and watching the Bulldogs play.

Diane Jackson Executive Administrative Assistant
Diane joined Hurst & Hurst CPAs in March 2018. She has lived in Georgia for 20 years after relocating from the West Coast. Since relocating, she has worked at a church preschool and a local gift shop.
Diane is responsible for client communication, intake, office efficiency and administration, as well as tax return processing.
Diane and her husband Ed have been married for 29 years and have 2 sons and 3 daughters. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their family.
